Personal Loan – Borrow From A Lending Club

As much as we all wish otherwise, the news about lending options are grim. Banks and other sources of funding have essentially cut significantly back on who they will lend to. In some cases, it is because they will only lend to those that have amazingly good credit. In other instances, these institutions simply do not have any money to lend. Then, there are those institutions that are willing to lend money but they will only do so at very high interest rates. Such a lending agency is not very helpful since the enormous interest rates would undermine any value that the funding would present. Now, all this information is nice to know, but what options are available to those that need financing? In the past, there were few options available. Today, the growth of the social lending network has opened an opportunity known as the lending club loan.

As the name implies, a lending club loan is an association where lenders and borrowers are brought together. This is commonly achieved through the exposure the internet provides these organizations the ability to grow. (Hence, a social lending network can work in the same manner as a traditional social networking site) Through the communicative ability of the internet, those that have money to lend can be matched with those that are in need of borrowing. This allows those that need to borrow can completely circumvent the past, present, or future problems that are present in the lending realm.

There is another huge benefit to a lending club loan. Namely, flexibility is inherent with these loans. In particular, since the borrower will be seeking a loan through a network, there is no reason to feel boxed in with a single offer. This means the individual does not have to feel pressured into accepting very poor loan terms due to lack of a viable, competing offer. Considering how damaging such poor loan terms have been to the credit market, this is a very good thing.

This does not mean, however, that anyone that signs up for a lending club loan will automatically be approved for any loan they wish. That would definitely not be beneficial to the lenders nor would it do much to attract lenders. Those looking for funding through a lending club loan will need to possess a good credit rating and a payment history that would indicate the individual has every intention of paying the loan back.

Does that mean that those who would be considered “high risk” borrowers are automatically excluded? Actually, it does not. This is because lending clubs are also open to those lenders that are willing to provide riskier loans. Of course, the interest rates on such loans might be higher than the average rate but this should be expected considering the risks the lender is taking. Ultimately, each individual lending club will have different criteria for such loans. However, in general, no doors are automatically closed to potential borrowers. That alone can provide more than a little bit of hope to those in need of a lender.
